Hey everyone,
I'm a writer for id Magazine (www.idmagazine.com), the free weekly alternative press in southern Ontario (west of Toronto). Recently, there has been a rash of cabbie attacks in my hometown, Kitchener, which has a population of about 200,000. The cabs have always been open, with people commonly sitting up front. However, after these attacks, the cab companies are considering putting up barriers and other saftety mechanisms. I'm working on a story about this and would be interested to hear from any drivers who regularly deal with threats, or have survived any serious attacks. Also, if there are any of you from smaller towns, I would especially be interested to hear your views on saftety measures. Thanks, and I hope to hear from you. Please include your full name if possible, as well as your location.
