A friend's wife wrote this poem and since some other JD
fans seem to visit I thought I'd post it here. God bless.

These humble words of tribute
Written straight from my heart
Of all my time and spaces
He has always been a part

He gave a voice to the voiceless
>From the forest to the whale
A mountain man from heaven
Did walk among us here

He was thunder through a canyon
And a softly dancing pine
His wisdom gently spoken
Deeper meaning there to find

He walked a path to follow
In the fight I feel him near
His timeless truth and beauty
Were as honest as a tear

He soared on wings of eagles
And cried alone sometimes
I felt his feelings through his music
And my lips know every line

True to his heart, his lifestyle
No resentment, no regrets
Steadfast and strong through hailstorms
They lift him higher yet

I can see his joyful smile
And his keenly sensitive way
If you can hear my heart in heaven
You know my truth this day

I feel completely broken
Life without him seems too long
But I know he'd want a smile
And a vow to carry on

With Sunshine on My Shoulders
And a Rocky Mountain High
The splendor of his singing
Forever echoes throughout time

For the love you gave to others
For the difference on the earth
How can our hearts thank you
Our time blessed with your birth

He dreamed of riding into space
And the oceans he did roam
Too soon on wings to heaven
He found his way back home
